The mission of the Junior High and Intermediate Choir Program is to provide students with an enriching vocal musical experience: to facilitate students in developing a level of musical growth that will enhance their quality of life and enable them to become lifelong advocates of music.
The Valley View Local School Junior High and Intermediate Choir program consists of three choirs: one 6th grade, one 7th grade and one 8th grade Choir. The program is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students wishing to pursue the art of vocal music. Students receive instruction in fundamental music principles, performance and practice techniques, individual vocal skills and the characteristics of musicianship. The program is designed to prepare students for vocal musical study at the high school level.
Any student participating in Choir will attend rehearsals as a part of the regular, curricular school day. Typically, Jr. High and 6th grade Choir students perform three concerts throughout the school year as well as participate in ensemble contest.
